While other people get ready for their holiday’s, we’ll be gearing up for two releases later this year.

First up will probably be the new CD from Craig Herbertson. Provisionally titled “Communication Breakdown”, it’s a major departure from previous album’s of Craig’s. Andrew Cadie of Broom Bezzums has been in charge of production.

Andrew is also heavily involved in the next new release, which will be an album of German Folk songs, sung by singers from the UK and Ireland. This project has already attracted a good deal of interest and the release date will be published very soon! More details, and some sound samples, can be found here

Leading up to the official release of their new CD, “Wine From a Mug”, there is plenty of excitement around the Broom Bezzms. This week they will be recording an interview in Mainz for Radio SWR1′s ‘Szene’ programme.

They’ll be presenting some tracks from the CD interspersed with bits of chat on a Sunday evening. The station broadcasts all over South West Germany and worldwide from their website http://www.swr.de/swr1/rp. Also, many other stations across Germany have been or will be playing tracks, so listen out for them on specialist music programmes.

There has also been plenty of feedback from the 2 page article in Folker Magazine http://www.folker.de/nav/index.htm . There will be more articles and reviews once the CD is released.

“Wine from a mug” is the title of the latest Broom Bezzums CD. The CD will be the first new release of this year. The official release date is Friday, April 1st – and that’s no joke! The promotion machine is already gearing up.

This promises to be a great year for Broom Bezzums, following their successful support tour with Show of Hands in 2010.

The CD can now be ordered online. For those of you in Germany, each order will be put in the draw for some free tickets to a Broom Bezzums gig of your choice in 2011.

Following the Broom Bezzums CD, the German song CD project is also nearing completion. The tracks have been mastered and now the cover design can begin. The first major press article has also been published in the most recent edition of the “Folker” magazine in Germany.

This year Craig has been back in the studio to record a new album. Producer this time is Andrew Cadie from Broom Bezzums. Whilst still focusing on Craig’s strengths as a Scottish songwriter, the album will be a real change of direction. It will also include guest appearances by Broom Bezzums and Matthias Keul, an excellent pianist from Cologne who has previously played on albums by the likes of “BAP”.
