Founded in 1996, Steeplejack Music is an independent label based in the Rhineland area of Germany. Our focus is mainly on the genres of folk, folk-rock, singer/songwriter, acoustic pop/rock, adult contemporary, rock and alternative.
We profit from long-standing industry contacts, above all in promotion and distribution. Together with established partners, we ensure effective PR, despite the usual restrictions of a small indie. At the same time, we maintain the typical characteristics of such an indie. This includes proximity to the artist, intensive support of individual acts, flexibility and, of course, a family atmosphere.
The top priority is the targeted, long-term development of the artist. We support our artists both musically and in business matters. This always takes into consideration the quality, authenticity and individuality of the act.
Neil Grant comes from the south of England. As a singer/songwriter, he was on the road in Germany and Europe with the folk band “Wayfaring Strangers” until the end of the 90s, during which time they released several albums. To this day he still performs occasionally live with his solo programme.
In 2004 he founded “Clay Hill Music” publishing and since 2015 he has represented the interests of the extraordinary publisher members at GEMA as one of 20 delegates. In 2023 he was elected to the national board of the German indie Association, VUT.
