Heart & Mind, the 2nd album from Freiburg indie-pop-folk band “The Rehats”, is a new collection of authentic, handmade songs with hit potential and ties in perfectly with their debut album from 2019. With Peter “Jem” Seifert (Raemonn , Udo Lindenberg, Liquido) the band has again turned to a successful producer and with the songs the Rehats brought in a co-writer on board for the first time. But not just anyone: With his song “Spirits”, Canadian songwriter Simon Ward from the “Strumbellas” landed a world hit in 2016 and achieved gold status in Germany. The fact that the Rehats were able to win over a major player in the Canadian folk and pop scene for the new album project speaks for itself.
With this album the Rehats have grown up and the songs show more depth. They talk about love (“For This Love”), relationships (“Crazy One”) or fears (“Anyway”), while the album’s single, “Run Now” (release 13 January 2023) is about the realisation that it is impossible to find fulfilment in the outside and one has to rely on and follow one’s own inner voice in order to ultimately experience fulfilment in the form of self-realisation.
Heart & Mind is a successful, further step forward for the Freiburg band and leaves us wanting more!
